Why the handle is one piece
Biel, FebruarySix minutes
Section · handle, waist and bayonet
A seam is where water gets in. Every toothbrush on the market has at least two: one where the head meets the body, one where the body meets the base.
We cut the handle from a single billet of Grade 5 titanium. It takes forty minutes on the lathe and another forty at the finishing bench, which is why we make four hundred a month and not four thousand.
“The part you throw away should be the smallest part.”
Titanium does not corrode in a wet bathroom, does not carry a smell, and takes an engraving that will outlast the owner. It is also difficult to machine, which is the honest reason most brands use plastic.
